Direct to plate can be classified into 3 categories: Metal, Polyester, and Laser. SEPS represents : Screen USA, Agfa, Konica Minolta, ECRM, , Mitsubishi, Kimotech, Hurst and many more. CTP (computer to plate has major differences are they are metal, polyester and laser. The three types of Metal Plates are, Thermal, Violet and inkjet. Polyester plates have run lengths up to 25,000 and Laser plates can be made from a thermal ribbon or toner base units and generally have run lengths between 4,000 to 10,000 maximum.
